Dr. Alina Raza, C.Psych

Dr. Alina Raza holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Carleton University and a Doctorate in School and Counseling Psychology from the University of Toronto. Her work explores how education systems can strengthen family resilience, with a particular focus on first-generation immigrant and refugee adolescents.
She is dedicated to developing culturally integrative, school-based mental health interventions that empower students and their families. Dr. Raza’s research and practice center on bridging cultural contexts, reducing barriers to support, and helping young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Since 2012, she has served as a Fellow and advisor with Illuminated Cities, contributing her expertise to our community initiatives that enhance the well-being and opportunities of marginalized populations.
