Samar Al Ghussein is an Illuminated Cities 2025 Poetry of the Camps-Gaza fellow.

Samar is a 19 year old Palestinian poet from Gaza. Her work has appeared in Modern Poetry in Translation and Al-Ayyam Newspaper, and she is featured in a forthcoming poetry anthology in Italy. Writing about love, war, and the hidden beauty within tragedy, she explores the intersections of pain and resilience through her poetry, giving voice to both personal and collective experience.
